Both the house and the senate will retain about the same complexion polit- ically, although there Will be a material change in the personnel. TABLES FOLLOW HIM ABOUT. Uneducated In Music, He Plays Operas He Never Heard—Wealthy Woman Describes to Professor Hyslop Amaz- . lag Gift of Her Son's Attendant. A description of astonishing psychic power manifested in her own house - held is given by Mrs. Jordan W. Lam - heft. wife of a wealthy chemical man- ufacturer of St. Louis, In the Novem- ber number of the Journal of the Amer- ! lean Society For Psychical Research. ! The experiences have been submitted to Professor James II. Hyslop, *ho ! within the past few days has been in consultation with Mr. Lambert's broth- er. Marion Lambert,' who has been staying at the Langhain, In New York. 9 The high social standing of the writ- er of the remarkable observations has caused them to be widely discussed. William Hannegan, employed ! by the lamberts as an attendant for their selven-year-oid son, is the subject. He is said to have imparted to the boy many of his strange powers, and the mother is convinced the child, who. she says, has been a cialrvoYant from birth, is in communication with mystic influences of the world beyond. 1 . .. Hannegan conies of a respectable family, but has had many hard knocks ! in the school of adversity. ! Last April he was graduated from the St. John .4 1 ! Hospital Training School For Nurses , in St. Louis and was engaged as an at- tendant for the junior Lambert. then 10 far from being strong. These are some 1 1, ! of the things that Mrs. Lambert says 20 !.Ilatinegan has accomplished: 1 Tables and chairs follow him about the room as if bewitched.. Without the slightest education iu music, he is endowed with supernat- ural powers over the piano keys, being able to play the scores of grand operas be has never heard. His astraf body wanders about the , house unlocking doors. I Lost articles are located by him with accurav. Mr. Lambert while in Paris ftequireZ a gold Napoleon about the size of a double eagle. He greatly ad- mired the old coin and carried it as a pocket piece. He declares that Ilan- negan hod an uncanny facility in fled - tug the coin when It was lost or inten- tionally hidden. On one occasion. when Mr. Lambert was sure that he had lost the coin for good. Hannegan told him he would surely find it in the lining of his pocket, and his direction resulted in the recovery of the yellow disk. Reties of a species unknown to the spectators are materialized by him as gifts from friends in the world of spirits. On one occasion he spirited a tennis is bell from a bath house into the pocket 1$ of Lambert junior through a pad- locked door. 9 Another time he summoned the spirit of Mrs. R. H. Davis, a friend of the Lamberts, and when the lighta were turned up at the end of the seance roses were found strewn on the 25 table. A florist who examined them. , said their like could not be found in any earthly flora. Warning's are uttered as if given by those from a distant shore. Balls are suspended in the air. Describing the astral body incident. Mrs. Lanibert says: \Ilannegan had retired eitOy one night, sleeping in the some room with my son. 1 was startled tly the turn - 29 lug of a key in the door of the room in which they were sleeping. 1 tried the door and found it unlocked. Ulu' as I Went in and turned on the li•rbt 1 , saw Mr. Hannegan's astral body float- ing over his bed. He was sleeping calmly.\ Mrs. Lambert claims that her son has increased in strength of mind and body under Hanne.ran's tare. Hannegan knows nothing of p•-zychic phenomena from any selentlff• point of view, and he has not been permitted to make any acientific , study. What he does seems to be the result of some incomprelimsible force. He does not care. Mrs. Lambert writes, for the visitations of the spirit*, which seem to plizrle and almost terrify him, and he seldom can be induced to try his power before strangers. Remarkable Timber Tract.
