Ruth Ann West, Lee Worthington Exchange Vows At a single -ring ceremony solemnized Sept. 5 in the Com- munity Congregational church with the Rev. Olah Moore offici- ating, Ruth Ann West, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. G. West of Thompson Falls and Lee Elbert Worthington, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Worthington of Thom- pson Falls exchanged wedding vows. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor -leng- th gown, the bodice was chan- tilly lace with a sabrina neck- line accenting a full satin skirt. A crown of matching satin and lace with pearls held her elbow length veil. She carried a white orchid on her white Bible. Attendants were Mrs. Ray- mond Wakefield of Thompson Falls, matron of honor, James G. Violette of Poison, best man, Gale Brauer and Frances Reber of Thompson Falls, bridesmaids, Rhonda Neumiller of Missoula, flower girl, Gary Crannell of Poison, ring bearer and Fred West and Harvey Brauer of Thompson Falls, ushers. Appropriate music was played by Mrs. Gerald Green. Donald Campbell sang \Because\, \Al- ways\ and \The Lord's Prayer.\ For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. West chose a wine -colored wool knit dress with white acces- sories and a gladioli corsage. Mrs. Worthington, mother of the groom, chose a beige two- piece suit of shantung with dark brown and beige accessories. Her corsage was also of gladioli. A reception at the church an- nex followed. Serving cake were Mrs. Ernest Brauer and Mrs. Vern Sloan. Pouring were Mrs. David Grant and Mrs. Louis Ros- enthal. Mrs. Larry McKenzie ser- ved at the punch bowl. Miss Lor- raine Ebbett took charge of the guest book. Assisting at the gift table were Sherrill Brauer, Bar- bara Brauer and Carol Neumil- ler. For her wedding trip the bride chose a sapphire blue sheath with black accessories. She wore a white orchid corsage. Out of town guests attending were Georgia Worthington of Butte, sister of the groom; Mrs. W. L. Franham of Butte, grand- mother of the groom; Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Clark and family of Butte, Mrs. Lloyd Crannell, Neil and Gary of Poison; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Neumiller and sons of Wallace; Mr. and Mrs. John Neumiller and family of Mis- soula; Mrs. John S. Brill of San Francisco; Miss Lorraine Ebbett of Spokane, and Mrs. Lela Lar- son of Yakima. At her ranch home, Mrs. West served a dinner for out-of-town guests before making their long trips home. Shower Honors Bride - to - Be Miss Kay Henderson, fiancee of Ray Lagge, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Lagge, was honored at a wedding shower Friday af- ternoon at the William Bierwag- en home up Blue Slide. Miss Henderson was the recipient of many nice gifts and refresh- ments were served by the hos- tesses. The young couple will be mar- ried at the Lagge home Septem- ber 26. Banquet Planned The IOOF and Rebekah ban- quet will be held in the Masonic temple Thursday, Sept. 24 at 6:30 p.m. Clerk of Court and Mrs. James H. Smith and son, James, left Saturday on a vacation trip to Seattle. Mr. and Mrs. Al Brass of Helena spent the weekend here with the former's daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Eldridge. Adolph Torgrimson, son -Ken- i , neth and the former's brother from Wenatchee, returned Thursday from Fergus Falls, Ashby and Foston, Minn. and Plentywood and Richey, Mont. Raymond Wakefield, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Wakefield who recently finished advanced infantry training at Fort Ord, Calif. is presently awaiting as- signment, according to a phone call last weekend. His wife, the former Lynn Johnson, is living in Thompson Falls while he is gone. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Johnson of Okmulgee, Okla. are current houseguests of their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. K. C. Zimmerman. They arrived here Labor Day from Portland where they had visited another daugh- ter, Mrs. Margaret Mosbacher, and son, Stevie. Mr. and Mrs. A. G. McAllister returned home from Missoula Monday evening where the form- er had been hospitalized for about two weeks after undergo- ing surgery at Community hospi- tal (old Memorial) early this month. Mrs. Mac said Mac was recuperating very well. Joe Olson of Great Falls, Mrs. Adolph Torgrimson of Thompson Falls and Mr. and Mrs. Art Noll of Noxon returned Friday from visiting relatives and friends on the coast and at Sunnyside, Wash. and Portland, Ore. They saw the Grotto in the latter city. - Olson is a brother of the two women. J. Miller, Thompson Falls, and Jack Court- ney Benson, son of Mrs. Hilma Benson of Milwaukee, Wis. were united in marriage at the Com- munity Congregational church Sunday, Aug. 30. The Rev. Olah Moore performed the double - ring ceremony. Mrs. P. B. Banis- ter played several selections on the organ and Don Campbell sang \At Dawning\ and \The Wedding Prayer.\ White gladioli and pink roses were floral decorations for the altar, with candelabra in the background. White ribbons and pink roses decorated the ends of the church pews. The bride, escorted by her father, wore a chapel length em- broidered gown of pure silk organza. The basque bodice had a portrait neckline trimmed with pearls and long pointed sleeves. The bouffant skirt which was over layers of tulle was also embroidered in a scal- loped motif. Her imported illusion veil was held by a Swe- dish crown adorned with pearls. She carried a bridal bouquet of pink roses and white stephano- tis. The maid of honor, Frances Scott, and the bridesmaids, Mrs. Boyd Davis and Judy Saint, were attired in ballerina -length gowns of aqua nylon taffeta with white accessories. They wore head- dresses of aqua tulle and car- ried bouquets of pink and white carnations. George Bybee was best man. Ushers were Gary Cooper and Lee Matthews. A gown of navy blue lace and net with mauve pink accessories and a corsage of pink roses was worn by Mrs. Miller, mother of the bride. Mrs. Sloan, who took the place of the groom's mother, wore a pale blue gown with white accessories and had a cor- sage of pink roses. After the wedding a recep- tion was held in the Masonic temple. Alan Buchanan To Wed Sunday Mrs Ruth Buhanan will leave today for Washington, D. C. to attend the marriage of her son, A. Allan, and Miss Nancy Al- berts of Winterville, 0. Sunday in the nation's capital. The young couple will reside in Washington, where both are employed by the federal govern- ment. On her return trip to Thomp- son Falls, Mrs. Buchanan will visit another son, David, and family in Minneapolis and her parents and other relatives at Pine River, Minn. Shower to Honor Joanne Green A public wedding shower will be held Thursday, Sept. 24 at 8 p.m. in the Woman's club house for Miss Joanne Green, who will be married Sept. 26 to Ronald Darlington of Lethbridge, Al- berta. All friends of the couple are invited to attend the shower. Son Is Born Mr. and Mrs. Harold Chappell are the parents of a son, born Saturday morning at the hospi- tal in Hot Springs. Chappell is the mechanic at Motors Garage and a brother of Mrs Lloyd Oertli. The infant has been named Ronald Glen and weighed 6 lbs. Harold brought his wife and son home Monday. The LEDGER — an ideal gift' SANDERS COUNTY LEDGER Thursday, Sept. 17, 1959-7 4-H Members Work on Projects A work project meeting for the Power City 4-11 members was held Tuesday with leader Mrs. Archy Tobiska and guest Mrs. Harry Kenny who has assisted the past several meetings. Jen- nifer Rohwer brought press mitt patterns for the girls en- gaged in sewing projects while Linda Kenny gave a demonstra- tion on sewing basket needs, Sandra McCracken talked on needles, Colleen Andrews gave a demonstration on shears and scissors. For girls in cooking, Darla Tob- iska demonstrated correct met- hods for recipe filing and Tal- ona Gunn, Susan Cox, Charlotte Kenny and Bernice Olson gave cooking demonstrations. Recreation leader Barbara Brauer closed the meeting with a spelling game. September 13, the club mem- bers went on a picnic up Clear ('reek with Vern Andrews and Archy To'biska providing trans- portation. They observed snakes and frogs. September 8 the girls held a community service meet- ing working on scrapbooks. Boys state and girls state de- legates will give reports at the Oct. 6 meeting prior to the open- ing of chapter. The lunch com- mittee for the evening will be Kathryn DeLong.
