The young people of the two classes were adorned in Easter hats designed by them POST OFFICE BOX 1028 59255 | PHONE 768-3433 POPLA MONTANA _ HOSPITAL BOARD ANNUAL MEETING The Annual Meeting of the Poplar Hospital Association was held March 18, 1970. Skulason Moe, L.J. Witte, and Gene~ Theroux were elected Directors to serve for a three year term. Lyle Lockman has filed for elec- tion as Trustee from Hosp- ital District No. | and No. 9. The annual reports were given by the Officers of the Association. It was noted that 80! patients were admitted to the Hosp- ital during the year, 768 patients dismissed, and there were 23 deaths. There were 93 births and 3,007 patients treated in the Out Patient Department during the same period. SPECIAL BOARD MEETING A Special Meeting of the Board of Directors of the Poplar Hospital Association was held March 19, 1970 at which time officers for the ensuing yeor were elec- ted. Tom Reid was elected President, L.J. Witte, Vice President, Oscar Dahli- berg Treasurer, and Marj- orie Helmer Permanent Sec- retory. Les Anderson was appointed Adminstrator of Community Hospital and Marjorie L. Helmer was appointed Assistant Admin- istrator. MARCH 26, 1970 | ) HOLY WEEK EVENTS \The congregations of the First Presbyterian and Lind- sey Memorial Presbyterian Churches, will hold a union service of Holy Communion on Maunday Thursday, March 26th. The service will be held at the Lindsey church at 7:30 p.m. On Good Friday, March 27th, both congregations are encouraged to partici- pate in the special service to be held at St. John's Lutheran Church at | p.m. Special services will be held on Easter Sunday in both congregations. The day will begin with a Sunrise service and breakfast at the First Presgyterian Church, at 7 a.m. This service will be presented by the Junior class of the Church School. At 9:30 a.m. the Easter Worship Service will be held at the Lindsey Mem- orial Church, and at Il a.m. the Easter Worship Service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church. All services are open to the public. = GOOD FRIDAY SERVICES Good Friday Services will be held ot St. Johns Luth- eran Church at 1:30 p.m. This is a combined service which includes the various churches in Poplar. Most of the stores will be closed between 12 noon and 3 p.m. to moke it possible to attend these and their mothers. JEFFERSON-JACKSON DINNER Preliminary planning is underway for the Annual Jefferson-Jackson Dinner scheduled for Wolf Point on Saturday, April llth. Gov- ernor Forrest Anderson will be honored guest and feat- ured speaker on the evening program. Other state offi- cials, as well as those from Roosevelt county, will be in attendance . George Stensland, Roosevelt County Democratic Chairman, pointed out that the dinner will afford citizens from Roosevelt County and sur- rounding areas in opportu- nity to visit with Governor Anderson for the first time since his successful bid for the states highest office in 1968. The dinner function will also serve as a fund raiser that will support the Democratic effort at the local level. Advance ticket sales are already underway. \More details on the dinner program will be announced later,” stated Stensland. The Poplar Jaycees will sponsor a table Tennis tour- nament at the American Legion on Sunday, April 5. All boys and men of the Poplar area over the 7th grade are eligible to part- icipote. There will be three age divisions. 7th and 8th grade---Junior Division, 9th thru I2th grade---Inter- mediate Division, and adults will compose the Senior Division. No entry fees will be required and participants must sign up at the ARGO- NAUT before 5:30, April 2. Exact time for the tourna- ment will be announced later, when the tournament chairman has an idea of the number of participants. Rev. Richard Schlupp of Berndale, Minn., will be guest speaker at Poplar Assembly of God. The ser- vices will from March 31, 1970 to April 12, 1970 each night at 8:00 P.M. except Monday & Saturday nights. Rev. Schlupp pastored in Minn. for several years be- fore going into the evange- listic field. He graduated from North Central Bible College in Minneapolis, Minn. Pastor James Wilson extends a cordial invitation for the public to come and enjoy the inspirational singing and Bible-Centered preach- ing.
