'JULY 3, 1909 PRICE FIVE CENTS PIANO RECITAL Miss Amy Roseebaum has a class of over twenty peptic, in music in Townsend and vicinity and on last Saturday they all gathered at the spacious home of A. C. Carson to give their annual recital. Space forbids our making individual mention of the pupira efforts, but.it goee with- out saying that they all did credit to themselves and their able instructor. The entertainment was.enjoyed by a large attendince• of parents aud (deeds of the Verfermers. , CHILDREN'S DAY Children's Day was appropriately observed at the M. E. Church last Sunday evening. A fine program had been prepared by the email folks who are members of that Sunday School and a large and - appreciative -audience gathered in the evening to hear them render it. The church was very prettily decorated for the occasion. The Methodist Sunday School is in a very flourishing condition at pre- sent and notch credit is due Superin- tendent Slawson and his faithful corps of teachers for their untiring efforts in this direction. CONSF.CRATION _ The St. John's Episcopal church having been newly furnished With a • organ, lectern and choir stalls, the date Of consecration was set for Thursday, June 24th. On that date Bishop Brewer of Helena and eight other clergymen from other parts of the state were present to assist in tb - ceremonies. Beautiful , services were held at the church at 11 a. m: The building was very nicely decorated. The choir furnished good music and after the service the visiting members and several of our townsfolk enjoyed a banquet at the Commercial hotel. Bishop Brewer as toastmaster was highly entertaining and the responses to his toasts were full of wit and humor. The occasion will linger long in the memories of those present as one of_thelruly_enjnyabla haurs_o their lives.
