OUR GROWTH HE remark, was quite fre- quently heard until re - ( eently that Townsend wore a dead old town and was degener Ating every day. But, strange to say, such a remark is rarely heard just about this time.. Do you know • What itmeans? It Means that our • county seat town is on a strong up grade,' and that indicates that our 3ounty is in . the same glorious plight. With the sound of lite hammer - and saw resounding hom morning till night; with new MAMIE; of 'ore being found very fre- quently; and with an outlook for — crops that was neyer surpassed in the history or the late; it is no wonder that we are joining the long caravan of other Montane - counties that are • doliblitig their poptilai ion and wealth as 'the years yell along: And the best of it all is that ours' is • not a mushroom growth that conies and goes, but a strong consistent gain' , that will eventually land Broadwater . coun- ty among the foremot ' t_ counties of the state. A LITTLE COMPARI.sON HAT do you suppose land is worth in Gal- latin Valley today? Some • might say $100 per acre and some might .even think higher. Let's - go - it al. , about *76 per acre on an average. And how about the Yellowstone Valley? Well, it will run ' from $50 to *76 or even higher. And how about Broad water county land? The ay. forage might go over *40 and it might fill considerably short of that. Now statistics do not show a discrepancy in clop reports as ` t - h j ere is in land values, so there must be some - ' explanation of the . enigma. Boiled down, - the - whole - case is just this:.Land seekers do not know where we are, what we raise, or what our land is listed at. Let's gefiethe hand , wagon and advertise . our • resources a little. There is no other way under the sun and the sooner we are made to realize it, -o the -- -more - quickly shall receive our just dues.. MT BUSY . 13 Y ruling the minutes ___.ofigAnasii'meeting. which was held . in - Townsend last Satur- day mght, tt - Wilrbe noticed that work is to be pushed on thEdata gathering store at once. Now fel- low citizens (bop all petty differ- ene,es and get hit() the harness for results. If . we do not land the . plum we are - after, it will be our own fault. The committee to gather and present the required inforniation to Mr. Carter and his associates this fall will undoubted- ly $(et busy and while much work -- Will devolve uptYn drenvitiwearbtf • the ambition of every man in the county to assist tether than retard . their effort. We fe-1 confideet that our efforts will meet with suc- cess. All that is necessary is bar- medy and hearty cooperation.
