TITLE: Secretary/Receptionist SALARY: Classification B - Pay level 11 LOCATION: Tribal Health Department, Ronan, MT DUTIES: Receives telephone and personal callers; provides basic information to the public, as requested; directs requests for more technical information to appropriate staff members. Types a variety of forms, correspondence, documents, reports, etc., from draft or copy; examines for accuracy and complete ness; proofreads, makes copies and mails final copies as appropriate. Updates records and indexes and insures their safekeeping; maintains current and orderly files; estab lishes new filing systems as required. QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of high school or GED and one year of relevant training/experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Working knowledge of modern office practices and procedures; basic knowledge of departmental functions and services; skill in the operation of a typewriter, adding machine, and word processor. POSITION: Upward Bound Program Coordinator/ Head Counselor DUTIES: Serve as the communicator and liaison between the Salish Kootenai College and the seven Reservation high schools. Supervise a staff of instructor/counselors during the scholastic year and supervise counselor/leaders during the summer component. Provide counseling and guidance to counselors/leaders the summer and to students when needed. Plan and coordinate all activities with target schools. Maintain student files and prepare progress reports. Perform other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor’s degree in guid ance and counseling or other education-related field with emphasis in working with minority and disadvantaged popula tions. Prefer training in wholistic models of education and familiarity with the concept of whole-brain learning. Experience required in counseling with Indian students or Upward Bound students.
