Obituaries RICHARD M. MCBROOM POLSON — Richard Mortimer McBroom, 69, o f Poison, died o f a heart attack Jan. 11 at St. Joseph Hospital. He was born Jan. 8,1919, in Innis- fall, Alberta, to Clay and Nellie McBroom. He later moved to Poison, where he attended school. Mr. McBroom drove logging trucks and worked construction. He also was employed by the Dupuis Lumber Co. In April 1953 he married Elizabeth E. Gingras in Poison. He was a veteran o f World War II and the Korean War. Survivors include four daughters, Gail and Shirley McBroom (both of Poison), Linda McBroom (Pittsburgh, PA) and Carla Dewitt (Medford, OR); two sons, William and Dean (both of Poison); two brothers, Wes (French- town) and Jim (California); a sister, HEARING, from page one: nance 44D. Burial fol lowed at Lake View Cemetery with military graveside rites. GILBERT ST. GERMAINE HOT SPRINGS — Gilbert St. Ger maine, 71, died Jan. 17 following a stroke at Hot Springs Convalescent Center. He was born Jan. 31,1916, to Alex ander and Louise Hameline St. Ger maine in Arlee. He received his educa tion in Butte and Browning schools. In 1939, he married Alice Davis in Poison. The couple lived in Poison, Hot Springs, Dixon and Missoula. Mr. St. Germaine worked at various lumber mills, and later at the Garden City Greenhouse in Missoula. He adult member of the immediate family must possess his or her own Tribal Use and Conservation Permit with the ap propriate stamp...” Other changes include: the addition of antelope, otters and beavers (in three specific areas) to the list of species that can’t be hunted or taken (non-members can ’ t hunt on the Reservation, except for some bird species); new live bait provi sions; and provisions for the closing of part of the Middle Fork of the Jocko to Fishing, and the Kicking Horse and Ninepipe reservoirs when their respec tive water levels are too low. Bull trout and Kokanee salmon are also singled out for special attention. Other revisions involve combining some paragraphs, and placing others as separate sections. Copies of the regulations for both members and non-members are avail able from the Executive Tribal Secretary’s office in Pablo. The Tribal Fish and Game Conservation Dept, can help explain the specific changes. Don't forget: The hearing to discuss all of the above is scheduled for next Monday, Feb. 1, at 7 p.m., in the Council’s chambers at Tribal headquar ters in Pablo. moved to Dixon in 1974 to be near his children. He entered the Mountain View Home in Hot Springs in 1982, and transferred to the convalescent center in 1984. Survivors include a son, Dennis and a daughter, Janet “Tiny” Burtch (both of Dixon); a brother, Walter (Spokane); three granddaughters and a great-grand daughter. He was preceded in death by his wife on Oct. 22,1973, his parents, five broth ers, two sisters, two sons and two grand children. Funeral services were Jan. 20 at the Fearon Funeral Chapel in St. Ignatius with the Rev. Joe Retzel officiating. Burial was at Pleasant View Cemetery in St. Ignatius. Pallbearers were John Juhasz, Bill Schall, Carl Morigeau, Lee Richards, Cecil Trickey and Eldon Mickelson. ESTHER WIEGELE ARLEE — Esther Blodgett “Toots” Wiegele, 83, of Arlee, died of natural causes Jan. 17, at Hillside Manor in Missoula. She was born April 4, 1904, at the Jocko Agency near Arlee to Newman and Sara Ladderoute Blodgett. She re ceived her education in Arlee and gradu ated from Chemawa Indian School in Oregon. In 1949, she married Jack Wiegele in Great Falls. They ranched for many years in the Arlee area. She was preceded in death by her husband. Funeral services were at Jocko Catho lic Church near Arlee. The Rev. Gus Schmidt officiated. Burial was at Jocko Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were George Jefferson, George Coans, Simon Tweden, Pablo “Sarge” Espinoza and Charlie and Randy Hanson. MARY E. MAGER POLSON— Mary E. Mager, 61, died o f cancer Jan. 16 at her home in Poison. She was born May 19,1926, to early Montana settlers Eric and Molly Pear son in Barber.
