Blue Bay Healing Center conference set Developing a plan for the Blue Bay Healing Center will be the subject o f a conference Feb. 9-12 to be held up at the center’s lakeshore site. Cruz Acevedo and Phil Lane (both o f the Four Worlds Development Project), Phyliss Chelsea (of Alkalai Lake in Canada), and Cathleen Brooks (nation ally known for her work in the field o f al coholism, particularly with adult chil dren o f alcoholics), have been invited as consultants to explain what other pro grams can offer the center, according to Anna Whiting-Sorrell, director of the Tribal Health Department’s Alcohol Component, which is sponsoring the conference. The Reservation community is needed to help plan out the structure according to specific local needs, she says. The meetings will be in the main lodge, which is scheduled to be fully renovated by then. Whiting-Sorrell says they’d like to be contacted by everyone who plans to attend so they can make arrangements for rides and so they’ll know how many they should plan to feed. For specific times and other details, contact either Whiting-Sorrell or BBHC project director Ben Ascensio at 676- 2770, or watch for finalized details in the next issue of The Char-Koosta Senior sought for EPA position The environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is looking for a Montana Indian senior citizen to do a one-year fact-finding proj ect. The job entails obtaining infor mation about envrionmental pro grams on all the reservations in Montana and preparing a sum mary about them for the EPA. The person selected must be qualified for membership in the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP), which evi dently is funding the job, al though EPA will be administer ing the project. Rate of pay will be negotiated with AARP.
