TITLE: Outreach Coordinator LOCATION: Kicking Horse Job Corps SALARY: Classification H, Pay Level 17 DUTIES: Responsible for screening prospective corpsmembers for enrollment at Kicking Horse Job Corps and helping find jobs for departing students. Coordinates Center efforts in esablishing and maintaining a viable network of field contacts. Coordinates the Center’s efforts in supplying infor mation and necessary recruitment forms to all Center con tacts. Maintains and updates a file containing job market information which will be used for recruitment and placement efforts. Answers all correspondence requesting information about the programs offered at the Kicking Horse Job Corps Center. Sees that necessary application forms and other informational material is sent to the Center’s contacts, and other recruiting agencies when their supplies run low. Devel ops good working relationships with federal, state, Tribal, public and private entities to strengthen recruiting capabilities. Provide guidance and job market information to the corpsmembers in Exit Phase of theirtraining program. Acquire and maintain information for the Kicking Horse Job Market file from various states. Develop employment packages for the corpsmembers who are in the Exit Phase of their training program. Responsible for Center-based and field activities that will develop new contacts for recruiting purposes and placement of terminating/terminated corpsmembers. Acts as screener liaison on Center. Responsible for proper completion and dissemination of Job Corps Placement Form and assis tance record (ETA-678). Develops and updates Center’s Comprehensive Placement Plan. Disseminates feedback in formation obtained through follow-up procedures, to respec tive Center departments so they can evaluate their training performance. Develop placement opportunities for terminat- ing/terminated corpsmembers. QUALIFICATIONS: Degree in human services or related field, previous career development experience, and previous experience working with youth 16 through 21 years of age; OR and AA degree in human services and two years of Job Corps experience relating to counseling, career development and public relations pertaining to recruitment and job placement. Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form. Must be adaptable, cooperative, creative, organized, respon sible, tactful, patient, and able to exercise sound and good judgment. Ability to interact favorably and develop trust of young people. Must have or obtain state driver’s license with class B (chauffeur’s) endorsement. Must be willing to travel when required. Must have a thorough understanding of Job Corps at the national, regional, and Center levels. Must have typing, filing, and telephone skills.
